DETAILED ITINERARY FOR THE LAKE TITICACA TOUR 2 DAYS AND ONE NIGHT

6:30am , will be collected from your hotel to head towards the port.

7:00 am, we arrive at the port and begin our boat trip to the floating islands of the Uros.

8:00 am, we arrive at the floating islands of the Uros. Here, the island's inhabitants welcome us. They will be honored by our presence and proud to show us their way of life, which dates back to before the arrival of the Spanish. They will also show us a small museum-like room where we can get a clearer idea of ​​how they live.

For approximately one hour, we will be able to appreciate the local way of life, and it will be hear their songs in the Aymara language.

For a more immersive local experience, local women offer optional totora reed boat rides on Lake Titicaca.

9:00 am, we head to Amantani Island, an interesting part of the tour. As the local women bid us farewell with big smiles, we leave the floating islands of the Uros.

In an instant, we'll be in the middle of Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world.

1:00 p.m. We arrive at Amantani Island.

We disembark and begin the 45-minute walk to the home of the local family who will host us.

We'll stay in family homes where lunch will be served.

In the afternoon, we'll trek on Amantani, visiting the temples of Pachatata and Pachamama. This hike will offer breathtaking views of Lake Titicaca and the Andean sunset.

Dinner with the local family, and there's usually a small gathering with local families and tourists from all over the island.

Overnight stay with a family home.

7:00 am Breakfast and farewell to the local family, walk to the pier.

8:00 am Boat departure to Taquile Island.

9:30 am Arrival at the port of Taquile. A one-hour hike ascends from 3,800 meters to 4,000 meters above sea level to reach the main square.

The path is designed with long ramps and few stairs. The guide will adapt to the pace of the group, but you are welcome to walk as slowly as possible to avoid getting too winded.

10:30 am At the main square, in addition to enjoying a beautiful view of the lake, you can visit various artisan workshops showcasing different textile techniques and, of course, purchase items for your home.

11:30 am lunch.

After lunch, a hike back to the pier and return to the city of Puno.

5:30 PM Arrival at the port of Puno and transfer to your hotel.

DISADVENTAGES OF LARGE GROUP ON LAKE TITICACA

1.-Most local tour operators in Puno to complete the number of people in the boat join or pool their clients from different travel agencies  therefore is not a personalized tour.

2.-On arrival in the different islands of Amantani or Taquile have to walk between 3800 and 4000 meters high, is clear that this trek uphill does not take more than an hour and a half. The act of walking in large groups makes people lose the explanation is that the guide does. In large groups visitors  can`t walk at your own pace.

3.-If you try to go faster so you will hear all the explanations after easier  you will have height problems, such as headache, vomiting, shortness of breath ....

4.-boat sometimes used by large groups suffers from overload and thus causing a problem in the engine power capacity and finally is spoiled.

5.-with a boatload is difficult to make good photos during the boat ride.

6.- If you want to stay a little longer at a certain place they liked and thus enjoy the beautiful view, you can´t do it because you must follow the majority of the group between 25-30 tourists.
