The special colca travel and colca canyon trek is a mixing between the Colca valley tour and the Colca Canyon trek (classic trek into the canyon). We also visit the national reserve of Salinas y Aguada Blanca, this tour is cultural, ecological and adventurous. Following this brief description of the places that we visit in the tour:

On this trek we visit the National Reserve of Salinas and Aguada blanca, is a reserve created especially for the protection of flora and fauna which is located in the highlands between 3800 and 4800 meters high. In this reserve we can find the wild vicuna, llamas, alpacas and especially the beauty of the Altiplano surrounded by mountains and volcanoes as Nevado Mismi which is the origin of the Amazon River and Nevado Ampato, where the mummy was discovered (“Juanita”), Sabancaya volcano which was erupted in the 90's.

We visit also The Colca valley , colonial towns and pre-Inca terraces which are between the town of Chivay and the Condor Cross having an extension of 56 km. In Colca valley tour we’ll visit many colonial towns as Chivay / Yanque / Maca / Pinchollo, the condor cross and Cabanaconde town. This valley has got nice views.

We do The trek in Colca Canyon . On this tour we do trek into the Colca Canyon of 2 days. This canyon is formed by the ancient lava flows and the Andes, finding towns literally suspended in the mountain,we will visited this these villages where are inhabited by people who even speak Quechua. We also spent one night in the oasis inside of the canyon with palm trees and exotic fruits and with a good pool

day 1

We leave at 7:30 in the morning from their respective hotels in a private car, after 2 hours travel, we’ll visit the national reserve of Aguada Blanca y Salinas, here we’ll stop to look at the wild vicuñas, explanation of flora and fauna of this reserve. Then we’ll stop to enjoy and drink an infusion of coca tea.

Continuing with the trip we’ll visit the viewpoint of the Andes located at 4850 meters high. This is where we can see the Andes and the volcanic belt which is the alignment of more than 7 active volcanoes and some other extinct, mountains of importance as where the mummy was discovered,” Juanita”, and the Nevado Mismi location the origin of the Amazon River.

After looking at these volcanoes and the Andes down to our car to the town of Chivay located 3600 m.a s. l. Lunch.
In the afternoon we continue with the visit of Colca Canyon, is important to inform you that inside the classics and normal tours we’ll visit the Colca Canyon in the morning, we'll get it done in the afternoon because there are fewer tourists . Remember that the Colca Valley is impressive by the viewpoints. The sunset in the valley of the Andes is excellent to take photos. That's why we’ll make stops in the viewpoints of Antahuilque and Mollepunku, and of course in other natural viewpoints. We’ll also visit a sort of hanging tombs, a ceremonial stone that resembles a model of the terraces of the Colca Valley. on this day we do 2 hours trek in the valley.

In the trip you’ll visit Yanque, Maca and Pinchollo and of course the condor cross and taking advantage of the time we’ll see how the sun is hidden in the canon of Colca. Getting to Cabanaconde (Colca Canyon) we’ll stay in a confortable hotel, and having dinner in a restaurant.

day 2

Breakfast and starts the trek in the Colca Canyon for 3 hours walking towards to San Juan de Chuccho,trekking down from 3300 mhsl to 2200mhsl., then we’ll continue the trekking 2- hours or more towards the oasis (a small climbing and trekking down). We spend the night in bambu cabins.

Important:

During our trek into Canyon we’ll visit San Juan de Chuccho, Malata and Coshñirhua village.

day 3

After having coffee We climb to Cabanaconde at 4:30 in the morning and after 3 hours of trekking we arrive to Cabanaconde. Then we have breakfast. Then we continue for 25 minutes by bus towards the condor cross to try to see the flight of the condor. Then we continue towards Chivay town to bathe in the hot springs of 38ºC .Then lunch. We continue towards Arequipa city to get there at 5 pm.

The temperature in most parts of the year inside the Colca canyon during the day is 25/30ºC and in the evening 4/8ºC.
