the ubinas volcano is situated at 70km to the south east of the city of arequipa; it is a stratum volcano.

ubinas is considered the most active volcano in arequipa with calm and strong eruptions since 1550. in the last 800 years the ubinas had two big eruptions.

at 9 am we will collect you from your hotel by private transport to travel to the ubinas village which is located 70 km (45 miles) from arequipa. on the route we can stop to appreciate the salinas lagoon (4300m.) in this lagoon we will be able to see flamingos and appreciate the incredible view the plateau;, surrounded with volcanoes, such as pichupichu, misti and ubinas.

approximately at 3 pm we will arrive at the ubinas village (2800 inhabitants) it is situated at 6 kilometers (3.6) miles from the volcano. in the evening we will stay in a small hotel in the village.

after breakfast, we will take the car in the direction of the ubinas volcano until we arrive at 4800 meters (15600 ft) from here we will walk for 2 hours until we reach the crater. from the summit the descent towards the bigger crater is easy, but we do not do this inside of the small crater since the walls are vertical. at 1 pm we will return to ubinas village, here we will have lunch. there is the possibility of bathing in the thermal baths of huarina village.

we will arrive in the city of arequipa at approximately 7pm.
