after breakfast we will leave our hotel to the sacred valley of the incas. we will visit a typical market in pisac and we will continue to the town of ollantaytambo to visit the archaeological remains of ollantaytambo. then we will have lunch.

then we will head towards moray, which is situated in the urubamba valley to the north of the town maras, here we will visit this site. we will then continue to the salinas of maras. then we back to the city of cusco and you will be transferred to your hotel.

 moray: is a set of terraces or circular platforms. these platforms were used as a scientific laboratory from before the incas. these platforms are arranged in big circles which are sloping to the lowest part. example: normally the products that were coming from the coast were sowed in the low part of these platforms and with the time this plant or grains were re-sowed gradually up to coming to the highest or top part of this big laboratory. it seems that the ancient peruvians went so far as to dominate the different microclimates that exist in peru. the result of this is that potatoes can be cultivated in peru from the coast up to 4000 meters of altitude; surely the ancient peruvians could adapt the potato in this big organic ecological laboratory which is currently known as moray's circle.

to have an idea of the importance of this site, in peru there are 84 of the 104 microclimates that exist in the world.

maras: - is a set of terraces and platforms that are fed by a spring of salty water. this salty water inca was canalized before the period. the salt from the andes mountain range turned this place in to be one of the most important sites before the arrival of the spanish.

the origin of this (salt liquid) comes from a sedimentary marine deposit that was produced when the level of the sea moved back towards the current peruvian coast. at present the salt of maras is an exploited artisan by the local people, from a lookout you will be able to observe these millennial platforms and the hard job the people who work here have to do.
